Veterinary Technology

Our veterinary hospital features a variety of technologies that help us diagnose and treat diseases and disorders in pets.

Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic imaging uses electromagnetic radiation and other technologies to create detailed images of your pet's internal structures to help provide an accurate diagnosis.

At Animal Hospital of Clemmons, we offer digital x-rays and ultrasounds to determine what's happening inside your pet's body and provide efficient treatment.

Digital Radiology (X-Rays)

Digital x-rays are extremely detailed images of a patient's internal structures. Our x-ray technology produces high quality images quickly and safely, resulting in more accurate diagnosis and more efficient treatment.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves transmitted through the body to create images of internal organs. It allows us to distinguish fluid from soft tissue masses or foreign bodies.

Ultrasound is very useful in the diagnosis of hemoabdomen and pericardial effusion (blood in the abdomen and around the heart).

When a pet has a tumor or ingests something it shouldn’t have, an ultrasound can also be helpful to locate the objects and characterize them.

We have added a new, state of the art, Ultrasound machine, taking our ability of diagnostic studies to a higher level of accuracy.

Ultrasonography

Ultrasonography is an incredibly useful diagnostic service for your pet’s health care.

The use of ultrasonography in veterinary emergency and critical care situations continues to grow. These scans have become an integral diagnostic tools in veterinary emergency rooms.

Often know as FAST scans, they enable emergency room clinicians to obtain vital information via ultrasound quickly, without the help of a radiologist.

Surgical Lasers

The word LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission Radiation. Lasers generates a beam of light energy at a specific wavelength.

This wavelength is absorbed by the water in skin and other soft tissue, allowing us to make incisions in tissue by vaporizing the cells.

The extent to which the laser beam is absorbed into the tissue can be controlled by the surgeon, allowing for extreme precision.

This precision results in decreased pain, reduced bleeding, and a lower risk of infection compared to traditional surgical methods.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold lasers are a pain- and drug-free therapeutic treatment for inflammation and pain conditions in cats and dogs.

Cold laser therapy is non-surgical usually used in conjunction with other treatments.
